How do I know this isn't another one of those work-at-home scams?
You are not buying a membership, or a directory of
some sort, or instructions on how to do data entry for someone else
so THEY can make more money ...
You are investing in yourself; in your personal and
professional growth. It's as if you had walked into your local
bookstore and bought a book that really opened your eyes, taught you
something that changed the direction of your life; and saved you
immeasurable amounts of time and money because you didn't have to
learn through trial and error.
On this website, there are some publications for
purchase. And there is also a lot of free information and resources.
I have owned my own home-based business since 1995 and have mentored
many women through the process of starting their own businesses.
The goal of this website and its products is to help
whoever wants to be helped, beyond my own neighborhood, reap the
incredible rewards of home business ownership.

How much does it cost?
Much of the information on this site is absolutely
free.
If you are interested in
starting your own data entry business, you can gain great knowledge by taking my free
5-day email
course.
As far as the start-up and operation of a data entry
home business itself ... you'll need some basics. A computer,
printer, some software such as word processing, spreadsheet, and
database applications. You'll need to determine your business entity
and register in the state that you live. In Minnesota, to register
as a sole proprietorship is only $25, for example.
YoYou'll need to have business cards printed; possibly
purchase some supplies if you don't already have what you need at
home; establish a business-only email account; have internet access;
and a few other minor items. Start-up is very, very inexpensive and
depends much on what you already have and how miserly you are
willing to be.
All of this is covered in my eBook,
Data Entry Home
Business: The Manual, which is a wise investment at only
$37 and is also a business write-off. But you don't have to buy the
eBook if you think you can get started without specific guidance. In
that case, everything you learn on this website is absolutely free.

How do I start a data entry home business?
Begin by setting up your home business. Determine its
entity, develop a business plan, create and price your services,
gain the skills you'll need, and get a
bookkeeping and recordkeeping system in place. These are the
types of activities you'll need to work through to start your
business. Again, I lead you through them all, every step of the way,
in my eBook. So, if you need help, my book is the place to start. If
you are already home business savvy - then set yourself up, hone
your skills, and start spreading the word. It is as simple as that!
There are tons of resources on this site to help you
as well.

What skills do I need?
First, to be successful you need commitment. Other
good traits include problem-solving; decision-making; the ability to
set priorities and manage your time well; willingness to learn; and
dependability. People skills are very helpful - but you don't need
to be an aggressive sales person to promote your business. Passive
marketing works better anyway.
YoYou should also type at least 50 wpm with 100%
accuracy. Try the free typing tests
to see where you are at. Increasing your speed and accuracy can be
accomplished quickly by practicing straight typing (grab a book or
directory around home) for 15 minutes - 30 minutes a day.
Data entry pricing is typically based on a per record
rate. For example, if you are typing names and addresses for a
mailing, then each name and address is considered a record. If you
charge .10 cents per record and you can type 300 records per hour -
that equals out to $30 per hour. If your typing speed is slower and
you can only type 100 records per hour - that only works out to $10
per hour. Speed is directly related to your profits.
