Data Entry Pro
If you are looking for a data entry job, or any type of work at home data
entry opportunity, why not learn how to become a data entry pro by opening a
small business?
Why Limit Yourself to a Data Entry Job or
just Data Entry from Home?
If you are open to a more long-term, flexible, and fulfilling way to make money
at home, any of the following statements will ring true for you ...
√ You want to FIND OUT MORE about starting a home business doing data
entry and other typing-related services ...
Don't let a home business intimidate you.
- If you sign up for an online data entry program, you are an independent
contractor working for yourself (if you can even find a legitimate online
data entry program - I haven't).
- If you are hired by a freelance agency, you are a freelancer - an
independent contractor once again - a self-employed individual working from
home.
- If you find clerical data entry from home work through a temporary
agency or for a particular short-term project ... it's just temporary and
soon you find yourself back where you started ... trying to find a data
entry job or another way to work from home. You are your own free agent.
Owning a home-based business simply means that you are self-employed.
You can make your business as complicated or as simple as you like.
You can make your home business as expensive - or as inexpensive - to operate as
you like.
Don't be intimidated by a data entry home business ... get the facts first!
√ You are looking for a long-term solution to earning money at home ...
Depending upon your location, your skills, and the equipment and supplies you
already own, you could be up and running within 7
days! This is not rocket science. If you've got the skills to be
hired as an employee by one company - you've got the skills to be hired as an
independent contractor by lots of different companies!
Having a job isn't necessarily any more secure these days than working for
yourself. In fact, once you learn how to use your talents and skills for your
own benefit, rather than someone else's, you may
never work for someone else ever again!
√ You want to work around your family's schedule, set your own hours, raise your
kids ...
I hear lots of heart-felt stories from stay at home moms. Many have an almost
overwhelming desire to be home with their children, at least through
the early years. Once the youngest child is of school age, or they can afford
daycare, or some other circumstance arises, the mom accepts her fate of having
to return to the workforce as an employee, part time or full time.
Why? Because she pursued a temporary work at home solution
or never found one at all. Or because she never believed in herself and her
ability to run a home-based business. A simple, undemanding home business is
your answer to long-term, fulfilling income that is almost entirely within your
control.
I
know that my 16 year old son, Ben, needs me at home just as much NOW as he did
when I started my home business when he was only two years old!
In fact, Ben was my motivation to launch my business back in 1995 ... he was my
incentive to face challenges head on and reach my goals. Think about what, or
who, can inspire you to stretch yourself, persevere, and keep you going to the
finish line.
Consider your career goals for the future as well as how you want to live your
life ... now, in two years, in five years, in ten years ...
If you want to earn an income from home, short term assignments and part time
"jobs" will not endure.
√ You believe that, as an entrepreneur, the sky is the limit as far as
how you choose to make money and how much of it you make ... you just need some
help getting started ...
YES! Data entry is
perhaps the easiest, least expensive computer service you can offer
from home.
YES! Data entry is in
high-demand by businesses and business professionals around the
globe.
YES!
Lots and lots of people are making money from home. Of the 7
million self-employed
persons in the
United States in 2004, two-thirds of
them had a home-based business and averaged 25 hours per
week working at home. That's part time!
YES! If you can type with speed and accuracy and are
dedicated to starting a part time (or full time) business from home
with excellent instruction and support, you can
become a home-based Data Entry Pro!
Indeed, 1 in 4
of the over 4.5 million home-based entrepreneurs provided
professional and business services ... such as data entry,
word processing, and other administrative work ...according
to the
U.S. Census Bureau in 2004. And the trend has been
increasing ever since.
Some Important Don'ts ...
√ DON'T limit yourself to
data entry.
Remember, the term "Data Entry" can be interchangeable with any kind
of typing-related service such as transcription, word processing,
billing, secretarial, virtual assistance, freelance writing, event
and travel coordination and on and on.
√ DON'T
pay for Online Data Entry Work
Do you pay to complete a job application? Do you pay for a job
interview? Do you pay customers to hire you? Do you pay your
employer to be an employee? No way!
You GET paid!
To work at home, you will need to pay for education, equipment or
supplies, and other resources ... similar to an employer paying for
its employee's educational books and seminars, computer, office
supplies, and the like. But ...
√ DON'T
be taken advantage of
Hundreds of people are searching for ways to work from home. Some
are more desperate than others. If they NEED MONEY NOW, their sense
of urgency often causes them to make irrational decisions, such as
falling for a scam they normally wouldn't have. Make good, careful
choices.
If you've been searching the internet and scouring the newspapers
for work at home opportunities, and running into dead ends ... or
worse yet, being taken advantage of ...
get real, honest, meaningful, life-changing answers right here!
Can you type with speed and accuracy?
Can you use the ten-key number pad efficiently?
Have you got some basic software skills like using word processing
and spreadsheet programs? And basic computer skills like surfing the
internet and managing emails?
YES?
Then You've Got All The Basic Skills
Needed To Start
A Successful Data Entry Home Business!

My Work at Home Success Story
Back in 1994, I worked a full time job as an Executive
Administrative Assistant. I took that job to reduce the level of
stress I'd been experiencing first as a Credit Manager, and then
as a Data Processing Supervisor. I thought I was "down-sizing".
However, the secretarial work turned out to be far more
stressful and demanding than I ever expected!
Secretaries, virtual assistants, and other administrative or
office support staff don't get nearly the appreciation or salary
they deserve for their talent and skill. Get paid what
you are worth and gain respect and praise in your own home
business!
I became more and more distressed about leaving my toddler (Ben,
pictured above) in daycare to go to work every day ...
especially to a job that left me exhausted and underpaid.
So, I spread the word and started doing word processing and data
entry projects "on the side" through referrals from family and
friends.
This was the beginning of freedom for me and my family!
About a year later, in 1995, I said goodbye to my boss
and hello to my newly launched home business, Projects
Plus! Those early years were tough. Income was inconsistent, I
learned by trial and error, and I worked long days and sometimes
nights too.
At the time, there really wasn't a book written about starting,
marketing, and growing a data entry home business. There were no
college classes on the topic nor could I find any websites at
that time with the help and support I needed.
It took me years to perfect the techniques, the pricing
formulas, and the marketing methods that made my home business
successful and profitable.
All these years later, I am a well-known and respected
businesswomen in my industry as the owner of Projects Plus LLC.
In addition, I am a published author, a professional trainer,
and a small business consultant.
In the last several years, what started out as a hobby has
become a profitable and deeply satisfying online adventure.
Making money online through sources like affiliate marketing and
eBooks has been fun and enlightening ... and my mission is to
share my knowledge and experience with you so you can
tell your own work at home success story.
The Beauty Of A Home Business Is That You
Make It Uniquely YOU.
If you want to keep it small, keep it part time ... you can.
If you want to expand into other areas besides,
or instead of, data entry ... you can.
If you want to grow beyond yourself and hire others ... you can.
√
You'll know how to do all three of these things, and
change them up as desired, with my detailed instruction.
Imagine YOU ... a Data Entry Home Business Owner
Imagine a
two-minute commute to work
... or however long it takes to walk from the pot of coffee
brewing in the kitchen to your computer.
Imagine answering the phone and hearing, "Hi. This is Mike over
at Advantage Mailing Services and I've got a data entry
project for you!"
√ You created a simple but effective, and very
inexpensive, postcard mailing using my examples and suggestions,
and you are getting results!
Your new prospective customer, Mike, continues, "I've got 10,000
records we need entered for one of our clients. Can I get a
quote?"
√
YES! He sure can! You know
exactly the right questions to ask to confidently bid his
project because you are following my Price Guidelines
Worksheet.
Imagine the next day, Mike calls back to ask if you can have the
project done within three weeks and where he should have it
delivered!
Let's see ... you figured you could type about 250 records per
hour on Mike's job. So 10,000 records divided by 250 per hour is
about 40 hours of work ... no problem getting it done in three
weeks. You bid it at .14 cents per record ... that's
about $1,400 for the data entry, divided by the 40
hours, so you'll average about $35 per hour!
YES! YES! YES!
√ The project arrives, you set it up in your database
software per my lessons, and begin inputting the data with
integrity and consistency, just as I have trained you to do.
Less than three weeks later, because you
know you should exceed your customers expectations in one way by
beating their deadline, you complete and return Mike's project
and send out an invoice for
$1,437.36. Ten days later, you get your check in the
mail!
Whoooooheeeeeee!
You can do a little dance in your pajamas and laugh and whoop
for joy because you are in the comfort of your own home! And you
just got paid ... working for yourself!
After you've calmed down, you make a copy of that check and tape
it to the wall above your computer! And then you drive to the
bank and make your deposit ... into a business checking account,
separate from your personal account.
You then record the deposit in your check register so you can
keep accurate financial records. Remember, you will need to set
aside some funds for self-employment tax and cover some business
expenses out of that deposit.
√ You send Mike out a nice, hand-written "Thank you"
note along with a survey of your services, just like I describe
in more detail in my training.
Another envelope comes in the mail from Advantage Mailing
Services a few days later. It's the completed survey from Mike,
giving you high marks and a testimonial that says ... "Thanks
for your superior service at a reasonable price. I won't
hesitate to recommend you and hope to work with you again in the
near future."
And it keeps getting better!
A week or so later, a gal named Jane calls from a company
called Design Studio. She says that Mike from Advantage Mailing
referred her and she needs a bid on her project! Fantastic!
Imagine that during all of this excitement, you are taking care
of and playing with your kids; volunteering at school, church or
for a cause close to your heart; getting the laundry and errands
done during the day so that evenings are available for family
activities, social events, or even data entry work!
*The above description is based on actual
circumstances!
Imagine how fulfilling it will be ... to earn money at home ...
using your talents and skills ...
around your personal schedule ...
with no one looking over your shoulder ...
except very proud family and friends.

Discover how to ...
-
Analyze your local market for prospects.
They are all around you. Any business or individual that needs an electronic
list (such as a database) of their customers for marketing and follow-up is your
potential data entry client. And that's just one example of many.
- Sharpen your skills. I recommend at least 60 wpm typing
speed with 100% accuracy. If you're not there yet, don't worry. You can double
your speed within two weeks - which will DOUBLE your data entry earnings on a
project.
- Be proficient at your Database Software application. By
using built-in features for fields, data control and manipulation, you will
significantly increase your speed (and therefore your earnings) as well as your
accuracy. Data integrity is all-important. This book discusses various programs
and how different functions and features will help you with speed, accuracy, and
flexibility for your customers.
- Become a Data Entry Pro.
There is far more to the craft than typing what you see on paper or entering
information from a computer screen. Review the
Table of Contents
or read the
Introduction for more detail on what you'll learn.
- Determine a business name and entity.
If you live in the United States you can review the
Secretary of State website in your location to learn about
owning and operating a home business. If you find an online opportunity,
through
Go Freelance.com or something similar, you will still be an
independent contractor, thus responsible for paying your own taxes yet
gaining valuable tax deductions. You are still in business for yourself.

- Create a Business Plan and complete other business
start-up tasks.
Walk step by step through the necessary stages of a home business
start-up, all customized specifically for a data entry or
typing-related home business - not generic or generalized for just
any business - to save you a lot of time and effort, and to help you
build a strong, lasting foundation.
- Develop your Services and establish your Pricing.
This is one area where new home business owners struggle the most. Learn
how to create a unique service offering and be paid what you're worth.
Several pages are included on these topics as well as two invaluable forms (Project
Description Worksheet and Rates Guideline). View the
Table of Contents
for more information.
- Set up Office. Find out what equipment, supplies, and
software you'll need - and what you need them for. Create
confidentiality and security policies, and more ... specifically for a data
entry or typing-related home business.
- Marketing.
Start spreading the word and start earning money doing data entry from home
for businesses and individuals in your area. You can expand your services to
include many other things - depending upon your skills, talents, and
interests. Cold sales never necessary. Data entry can be
marketed in a very passive, even introverted way. Get detailed examples and
instruction.
-
You can do it. It might seem like starting a
home business is mysterious or daunting, costs a lot of money,
is much too difficult, or too time-consuming when you've got
kids to raise, a job, or other activities that are a priority in
your life.
- Do it at your own pace - in every way. From
start up ... to how much time you want to spend working every
month. Part time, full time, ten hours a month, 70 hours a week
- the choice is yours. And you can vary it depending upon your
schedule and your life circumstances.
- Start-up costs are extremely low! Much of
what you need, you probably already own. As your business grows,
you can invest back into it to purchase wish list items,
increase your marketing budget, or expand your services. Some of
the profits from your business will pay for these things so you
are not spending personal cash. And certainly not creating debt.
- You'll find several pages devoted to
effectively calculating your rates. Included are
customized forms like a Project Description Worksheet
to use when discussing a project with a customer in preparation
for a quote. And the Rates Guideline
you'll use to actually quote a project.
- This book solves any marketing worries with sample
advertising and sales text for use in letters, postcards, and
flyers. Plus precise instruction for a direct mail
campaign on a next-to-nothing budget; an announcement
letter for friends, family, and business associates; plenty of
other ideas and guidance on many other forms of marketing -
plus, how to create and use an effective marketing database for
your business.
- Promoting a data entry home business does not have
to be done with aggressive sales pitches and face-to-face
meetings. Get the word out in a quiet sort of way, if
you wish, with powerful, attention-grabbing mailings, email, and
networking. This book tells you how.
