What is AdSense™?

You see those ads to the right? As you probably realize, those are Google AdSense™ ads. I copied some HTML code from my AdSense™ account that helps Google to analyze this page and place the most relevant ads here.

Why would I want AdSense ads on my site?

Well, I incur some expense in the design and upkeep of this site. I want to provide YOU with quality information, good products and services, and make your time visiting worthwhile ... without charging you anything, of 'course. So to recapture some of my expenses, I place Google AdSense ads on appropriate pages.

In this way, a visitor may find a particular ad interesting, and click it to learn more. When an ad is clicked ... I get paid. It may only be a few cents for each click - but if this site is visited a lot each day, those clicks can really add up.

Introducing the wonderful income stream of Google AdSense™

No, I'm not getting rich off ads. But the extra money pays a few bills and supports my impulses to explore new work at home opportunities! I don't feel guilty putting these ads on my site because I am giving my visitors something valuable at no cost to them.

Now, I don't support the idea of creating a bunch of websites just for the purpose of earning AdSense™ income. You might run into a lot of offers while surfing the internet for affiliate marketing opportunities that tell you to do just that.

Instead, create a website (or several websites) that are rich in free information, good navigation, and are a value to your visitors ... not just a bunch of advertisements. And utilize Google AdSense™ as one method of income generation.

AdSense essentially rewards you for creating a website full of quality content by displaying ads that are very relevant to your topic so that visitors will click the ads ... and you get paid!

Creating an AdSense™ Website

Establish a specialized topic

Think of a topic you enjoy; we'll choose animals as our example. Break that topic down further to target a more specific audience. Let's choose dogs. Now narrow that topic down again, to create a specialty or niche ... like a specific breed, activity, or condition. You could get even more focused if you like, but we'll go with Black Labs for our model.

Research keywords and register domain

After doing some keyword research, we'll select the domain name www.BlackLabLovers.com. Next, we'll map out the site, deciding on ten different pages to start with, each focusing on one subject (or keyword) about Black Labs. For this model, our pages consist of exercise, play, diet, grooming, breeding, training, breed background, choosing a puppy, personality, and the home page.

Create high-quality content

To fill your pages with quality content, you can write your own articles or other information for each page based on your personal knowledge and research. And/or you can use articles written for the purpose of being published by others.

Here is an article we could use on our model website called Black Labrador Retriever Color from Ezine Articles. I simply did a search for Black Labs on the Article Directory. You can use this article with permission because you are required to include the author's name and resource box, which may include a link to their own website or products.

You'll want to verify that the author is not a direct competitor or in some other way might lead your visitor away from your site. This author's website is www.lovablelabradors.com. Actually, if you view this site you'll see that it contains interesting, quality content as well as Google AdSense™ ads. How about that?!

Learn how to Earn the Most from AdSense

You can find a lot of good information right at Google, including how to set up your account. Take the AdSense tour!
SiteSell has an excellent article about how you can benefit from Google AdSense and how to design your website for the most profit.
One thing I love about SiteSell is their easy to understand, step by step instruction. You can access their Action Guide for free, whether you use their service or not, which goes into great detail about all of the topics I've discussed here - and much more.

As far as instruction for purchase, you'll find hundreds of eBooks and products for sale about this hot topic... just search the ClickBank marketplace with the keyword "AdSense". I haven't purchased any that I could personally recommend.

Once you get the hang of creating a content-rich, nice looking, and valuable site for your online visitors ... it will be a piece of cake to create another, and another, and another.
